250 Years of Freedom: A Note From Our Founder

America turns 250 this week. Two hundred and fifty years, and I keep coming back to one thought: freedom is more than a historical milestone or a day on the calendar. It's the opportunity to live with purpose, lead with integrity, and make choices that positively impact the lives of others.

That's what I want to celebrate this Fourth of July.

The Freedom to Build Something

I run a small business in St. Louis. Every planter we make is designed, printed, and packed in our studio here, by people I know, in a city I love.

When I think about what freedom has meant in my own life, it looks less like fireworks and more like ordinary days. The freedom to start a company with a stubborn belief that plant care could be simpler. The freedom to wake up every morning and make products that lift people's everyday lives: homes with more green in them, plants that stay alive, one less thing to worry about.

No one handed us a guarantee. What this country handed us was the chance to build something useful for others. That's what I'm grateful for, not just this week, but every week we get to keep doing this work.

Milestones Are How We Say Thank You

At Posie Pot, we've learned to celebrate our milestones, even the small ones. The first pot off the printer. The first customer who came back for a second. The first shelf in a store we didn't own. The first to patent a 3D self-watering planter! Each one was a moment to stop, look back, and be grateful before moving forward.

This year, the whole country shares a milestone, and 250 years is worth stopping for. It's why we made the Patriotic Pot: 25 pieces in red, white, and blue, created in our studio to honor the moment.

Because that's what milestones are for. Not to prove how far you've come, but to remind you why you started.

So happy 250th, America. Thank you for the chance to build, with the people who believe in us, and the freedom to do the work with purpose and pride.
